Fancy Pants Halloween

I am so loving the Fancy Pants Halloween papers! This is another layout I've done with the range, and it's based on a sketch over at A2Z Scraplets. I kept it pretty simple but I went a bit crazy with using the cuttlebug here. I love the extra dimension it gives to the papers. Even the chipboard cat went through the cuttlebug! I thought it would be a good idea to get stuck into scrapping a heap of old Halloween photos, seeing as this Halloween is only a month away. I cant believe it has come around already! Where has this year gone?

I Just Can't Wait For This...

I just cannot wait for this! Em is pretty keen to see it too, but I think I'll have to go see it first, just in case it's too scary for her. (or maybe that's just my excuse to go see it twice!)

Weekend Scrapping

This is a super quick layout I did using Kaisercraft Childs Play papers. It's on the Kaisercraft Blog at the moment with sketch and more layouts from the sketch. Dont forget there are only a few days left of competitions so make sure you get over there and enter for a chance to win some great prizes.

This layout I did using Fancy Pants papers. It was really hard to take a photo of it though, because I used a transparency and it kept reflecting back at me so this is the best I could do. It is such an awesome range of papers and I have already got a couple of other layouts using it on the go.

Yesterday we caught up with some friends and took the kids to Lollipops. They had so much fun and didnt want to leave, which is always the way! This is a pic of Em and her friend Jordan. They hadnt seen eachother for so long but it was like they hadnt been apart. So cute, they were playing mummies and daddies :). The kids are off to have some more fun today, when we go to their cousin Bens birthday party. They have been nagging me to go since they opened their eyes this morning!

A Kaisercraft Layout to Share...

It's school holiday time and the kids are loving it! Mum has had them while I've been working, and she's been spoiling them as usual, even suffering through the guinea pig movie (I think its called G-Force). I'm glad I didnt have to sit through that one! Some of those kids movies are painful to sit through, lol. I took them to see Up a few weeks ago, which was a really cute movie (I was lucky with that one!), and I'm going to take them to see either Aliens in the Attic or Shorts next week. If anyone can tell me which one of those two is better, please let me know! I think the very worst kid movie I have ever had to sit through was Shark Boy and Lava Girl a few years back. Now that was bad! Tomorrow we are off to Lollipops with some friends, so hopefully that will exhaust the little rascals for the rest of the day. (And maybe I'll get some scrapping done!)

At the moment I am waiting for my new Kaisercraft goodies to arrive. The new Q2 collection looks like it's even better than the Q1 stuff and I cant wait! This layout of Em here is the first one I made with the Q1 papers (its on the Kaisercraft Blog at the moment). I used the Pennyroyale papers because they were my favourite as soon as I saw them, although after I used all the papers it was the Pina Colada that I loved best. Hmmm...I wonder which will be my favourite out of the new ranges?

Hot, hot, hot!!!

It's getting hot! I can feel summer coming on and I'm not looking forward to it. I much prefer the cooler months when it's easy to get comfy and snuggle up. I cannot stand those really hot days when even the air conditioner cant cope. I am so glad we will be in our new house by the time summer is here, so at least we can go to the beach. We have been up at the new house today, just so I can get an idea of what furniture to buy. I am so looking forward to decking out my scraproom. At the moment my scrapping area is the kitchen table, and it's such a pain to pack and unpack everything every time we sit down for a meal. It is going to be total bliss for me to have a room just for scrapping and I just cant wait!

I havent been scrapping as much as I would like the last few days, because every time I seem to pull it all out the real estate guy rings to say he is bringing someone through. I did make this little card though, for my sister-in-law Kirsten's 30th birthday. Can you tell I'm in love with that design? Its the same as those layouts I made but just a smaller version. And I got to use my cuttlebug for the card and the clouds. I am totally loving that little machine!

I took these photos of the kids before Kirstens 30th. It was a 1920's gangster dress up party, and Emily thought she was just stunning. She kept looking at herself in the mirror for like an hour before we went. I got her the feather boa and beads from the cheap shop, and she picked the colours herself because she wanted to look like a rainbow. Jack just wanted the gun and to wear a cap, because he said that's what gangsters actually look like. Hmm, dont know what he's thinking of, lol. At least he let me get a few photos of him though, he is so uncooperative about having his photo taken these days!

Kaisercraft Sketch Layout

This is the layout I did for the Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch, using the Duchess papers. The photo is one I took of Jack, when he had fallen asleep with the nebuliser still going. Really stresses me out when he is sick like that!

If you are looking for some more sketches and inspiration, why not head over to Scraps of Us? There is a great inspirational gallery and new sketches and challenges going up weekly, and at the moment they are having a DESIGN TEAM search.

Another Layout

Remember the page I made a little while back called Believe in Magic? Well, I was asked to make a page like that for a class at the Fancy That retreat and this is what I came up with. It's very similar to the other one but I have used different papers. I love making layouts like this, it's a lot of fun, but it does take forever, with all the cutting out. I've got a whole day free today for lots of scrapping so hopefully I'll be back with some more shares soon!

Some more pages to share...

Just a couple more pages to share. The first one I made for Kaisercrafts Saturday Sketch 11, using the Pennyroyale papers. Lol, I always have a bit of a giggle when I look at that picture of Em. The second page is on Blossies blog today, and I've used some yummy Basic Grey Lemonade papers. In that photo Em was helping a bug that had got stuck on its back, so she had to turn it the right way up. Such and animal (and bug) lover is my little girl. Looks like I need to scrap some more pics of Jack doesnt it? I actually got a couple of decent photos of him this morning so I'll be doing some more boy pages real soon.

I've been scrapping!

Yep, I've been scrapping up a storm lately! I had a big spend up at work the other day and bought myself heaps of new stuff, including a cuttlebug with 15 embossing folders as well as a couple of dies. I'd been thinking about getting one for ages and now I'm so glad I did. I just love it! This page of Jack is one where I've used the cuttlebug on most of the papers. I love the subtle look of the embossing on the patterned papers. I just wish it could take bigger pieces of paper, but I have worked out how to get a decent sized piece through it. I've had that photo of Jack sitting in my drawer for a couple of years so I'm glad I've finally gotten around to scrapping it. It's for Gails Sketch Class at Blossies.

This next layout is for Blossies too, and it's of Emma at her cross country. It's hardly really a cross country, more like a 100m dash up the oval, so these are the only photos I really got. Good thing she was wearing that pink hat or else I would hardly have been able to spot her, cos they all look the same otherwise!

This last layout is for Kaisercrafts Blog Challenge which started today. There is a great prize up for grabs and it's really easy and fun. There is a picture that you need to take inspiration from and you need to use at least 3 different Kaisercraft products, but any other products you want. I cant wait to see what other people come up with. I'm planning on doing lots of scrapping tonight so I'll be back tomorrow with some more scrappy shares.

Check this out...

Where does the time go?

Hehehe, I just had to share these pics of Chickie. She just wants to be a dog and is so jealous of Daisy. I always feel sorry for her when the two of them are waiting by the back door to come in, and Daisy is allowed inside and she isnt. And the way she just stares inside, while Daisy sits on her comfy bed on the lounge. The other day the back door was open and I watched Chickie sneak in and jump onto the lounge chair, right into Daisy's bed. So cute! I let her lay in there for a while until Daisy came along and discovered her there, lol.

I just cannot believe how quickly the days are flying by at the moment! Faster than usual, I'm sure! Maybe it's just because I have been super busy, or maybe it's the thought of Christmas fast approaching. I was at the shops the other day and I saw a sign outside the toy shop with how many weeks til Christmas. OMG! I hadnt even thought about that yet! It felt like I had heaps of time, but it's really creeping up, isnt it? The kids have even written their letters to Santa already. Emma has asked for a new baby sister (lol, she DEFINATELY wont be getting that!) and Jack has written a 6 page letter, listing loads of things, from lego to a workbench with real power tools and a stereo with hd tuner, whatever that is.

Speaking of Jack, you'll never guess what happened to him. My cautious boy who never does anything remotely dangerous has broken his arm. Well, actually it's his wrist. I took the kids to the park on Saturday afternoon, weekend before last to ride their scooters. I was walking behind them as they were scooting down the hill, and Jack was riding with his foot on the brake as usual, and then for some reason had a bit of a wobble and fell off. He was going pretty slow when this happened. Straight away he was crying about his hand and I thought he had skinned it, but he hadnt. I told him to hop back on his scooter and start riding again, hoping he would soon forget about it, but he refused and I ended up carrying it back to the car and we went home. He seemed ok by this time but I called mum over to have a look and she thought maybe he had sprained it. I put some ice on it but it didnt swell up or anything so I thought he was just sooking. He was fine after that especially when I let him lay on my bed and watch Ben 10 dvds.

The next day he seemed fine too, but he said it hurt a bit if he touched it. Emma used this fact to her advantage, and every time they argued that day she would jab him in the arm. Nice sister, hey? That night when I had another look at it, his arm had definately become swollen and he wouldnt let me near it. When he fell asleep I had a good look at it, and started to worry.

As soon as I dropped Em at school on Monday I called work to tell them I would be a bit late and I took Jack to the doctors. He begged me to let him go to school so he wouldnt miss out on his insect incursion, so I just planned to get it checked out and then drop him off at school. Well, that didnt happen. As soon as it was x-rayed Jack was told he wouldnt be able to go to school because his wrist was definately broken and he would have to go to hospital to get his arm set. He was not a happy camper. So before we went to the hospital, while I waited for the x-ray films he went to school for an hour, to see the insects.

By the time we actually got to the hospital it was about 2 o'clock, and we didnt get out til after 5. Talk about a long day! Jack was very brave while he got the plaster put on and was quite excited to go and show it off at school the next day. He was also very happy that he got out of writing at school because it's his right arm that's in plaster. I on the other hand was feeling very guilty that the poor little man had gone 2 days with a broken wrist and I didnt even know. I mean, if he'd made a fuss about it or was in so much pain I would have suspected, especially as he is the biggest sook when he is unwell, but he hardly complained about it at all!

On Friday he had to go back to the hospital to have it re x-rayed to make sure it was healing properly, and they discovered that it hadnt been set quite right and that the bone next to the broken one was bent. So he had to have that plaster off and then have it re-set again! This time the plaster goes from his hand to his arm pit! Poor Jack, but at least it's not summer yet or he'd be really upset about not being able to swim. Having a bath is challenge enough at the moment!

So, what else have we been up to lately? Hmm, the house is officially on the market now, and the mice have gone back to the rspca. Minus one little escapee. Apparently the kids saw one on top of the cage and put it back in, but when I checked there was one missing. It seems the babies are small enough to squeeze throught the bars! They were out on the patio when that happened so hopefully he found somewhere to live out there. I'm still hoping that I find the poor little thing.

I have been doing a bit of scrapping of course, although nothing I can show just yet. Except for this card I made for my lovely Dad for Fathers Day. He really is the worlds best Dad. I used Kaisercraft Q1 Loire Valley papers and Autum Leaves stamps. I've started to quite like card making, and I've just bought a cuttlebug which I cant wait to use.

Well, that's it from me for now. I didnt mean to ramble on so much. I must be making up for all the blogging I havent been doing lately. I'll be back soon with some scrapping to share. Hope everyone has a good week!

Kaisercraft Pina Colada Frame

I LOVE these papers from Kaisercraft! I think Pina Colada was maybe my fave range from them this time and I just had to make this frame using those papers. And they go so perfectly with this photo of Em at her 6th birthday party.
