Kaisercraft Pennyroyale Layout

This is the layout I did for the Scraps of Us Cybercrop. My challenge is to use 3 photos, a rubon and to only use your scraps. You still have plenty of time to play along so make sure you go and check it out for your chance to win a prize. This is my first 8.5x11 layout! I have been wanting to try this size for ages, and it was amazing how quickly it came together. I'm definately going to have to do some more.

Imaginisce Layout - Perfectly Posh

I got a pack of gorgeous new papers the other day - the Perfectly Posh range from Imaginisce. They are SO cute and nice and glittery too. I have so many photos of Em that suit these papers perfectly, so I thought that I'd just use them all up til they're gone. So far I've done 4 layouts and a couple of cards with it and I'm still going! This page here was made using some of the scraps from the other layouts.

Well, on the chicken pox front, Jack is on the mend now. He is still covered in spots but they are starting to fade from his tummy and back, but are still popping up on his hands and feet. He was so miserable with it, the poor thing. I mean, just look at that sad, sorry little face :( Now I'm just worried that Emma will get it. I have enjoyed being at home and having lots of one on one time with Jack though, and I have gotten loads of scrapping done too. In the last week I have done 9 layouts, 7 cards and 1 off the page item! Stay tuned because I will be popping a heap of them on here shortly, just need to take some decent photos of them :)

Published Layout and More Cards

This is my layout that was published in the latest Scrapbooking Memories. I love that range of Bo Bunny papers, it's so nice and girly. It is one of my favourite layouts and Em was thrilled as always to see herself in the mag. She's always telling Jack "I'm the famous one". So funny.

I managed to finish these cards for the Addicted to Craft blog challenge. It really was a challenge because the papers we had to use were really not my thing, but at least I've got a few more Christmas cards to add to my stash.

Well, Jacks chickenpox has gotten heaps worse today, and the poor little man is just covered in heaps of red spots. My dad hasnt had chickenpox before so I really hope Jack doesnt give it to him. Apparently it's supposed to be really bad for an adult to get it!

Friday Night Fun

On Friday night I took the kids to the Jacaranda Festival. It's only a tiny local Festival but the kids absolutely love it and we go every year. This year I almost didnt go because I was called to pick Jack up from school early because he wasnt feeling well, but he assured me that he was well enough to go. (typical hey, too sick for school but just fine to go out and have fun!) Now, every time we go I end up spending a small fortune, so this year I told the kids they could have $25 each to spend on whatever they wanted, and not to ask for anything else. This was the first time I've let them do this and it was the best thing I could have done. Usually they ask for everything there and get cranky when they cant have it all. But this time was totally different. Armed with their $25 each, they both checked out the prices of the show bags they wanted and then worked out how many rides they could have. They usually carry on for lots of turns of silly $5 games where they never even win a prize. They always both want the glow swords that break before the night is out. But not this time! We had such a good night, with no one whinging. They had 3 rides each, and then Jack got himself a lego army tank, and Em got herself a showbag and a bubble gun. By the time we had done all that the fireworks were just starting, so it worked out perfectly, although Jack was starting to feel sick again at that point.

It wasnt til Saturday morning that I worked out what was wrong with him...Chickenpox! He was over the moon when I told him he would have to miss a few days of school next week :)

Layout and Sketch

This is the October sketch over at Scraps of Us and the layout I made for it. I've used Bella papers and just kept it really simple. Simple as it is though, I still like it, and I think anything more might have overwhelmed these photos. Those pics were taken at the kids cousin Ben's house, while they were all cooling off in the pool. I printed them small because they didn't look good any bigger, so it worked out well when I got that sketch to play with :)

And if you're looking for something to do next weekend, make sure you join us for the Scraps of Us Cybercrop. It's sure to be lots of fun!

It's that time of the year...

It's that time of the year when my thoughts keep turning to Christmas. I cant believe how quickly it is coming up. Every year I keep telling myself that I'll be more organised than the last year, but it just never seems to happen. This year I will definately have all my Christmas cards made on time though! I've never really been much of a card maker, but I'm actually starting to like making them these days. This is a card I made for the Blossies Blog. I love, love, love this range from Kaisercraft. I think it is my favourite from the Q2 ranges. I love how the colours are all so nice and bright and are much better suited to photos of kids at Christmas than the traditional red and green. I know my kids are always wearing bright colours, with lots of pinks and blues, so these papers are perfect. I have a few layouts that I'll be able to share soon using this range, as well as some more cards that I've been working on too :)

On Wednesday my China box won the Week 2 Addicted to Craft Blog Challenge. I was so excited to see my name on the blog :) And then this morning before I took the kids to school I saw my prize had been delivered. Talk about speedy! I wasnt expecting to see it til next week!

More Scrapping...

So last night the kids went to sleep over at their dad's house, and I had a whole night of peace and quiet! I ended up going to mums for dinner and watching a scary movie with her. I have to say, that when I got home to my dark house I was a little nervous, and I made Daisy go in, in front of me. She may be small but she sure is feisty, and I know that if there was someone lurking about she would soon sniff them out. Of course, there was no weirdo waiting inside my house when I got home, but I turned on every light in the house. Yep, I'm a chicken. I dont give it a second thought when the kids are here but when it's just me, every little sound seems to be amplified.

Anyway, I ended up finishing off this box and mini album for the Addicted to Craft blog challenge. The papers are China Journey and Japan Journey by Dove of the East, and they really threw me at first as they are so not what I would normally scrap with. I ended up deciding to make the box and album for my parents, for the trip they took to China. I just need to add some photos now to finish it off. Surprisingly I'm quite happy with how it ended up turning out, and hopefully Mum and Dad will like it too.

Well, I have about an hour before the kids come home, so I am going to try and finish a few other things off. I might be back later with some more shares :)

Published Cards and Exciting News...

I was lucky enough to have some cards published in the latest issue of the docrafts Creativity magazine. I used Doodlebug papers and glitter stickers and I was pretty happy with how they turned out. I am so not a card maker though, so these are probably the only cards that I'll ever have published, lol.

Now for the exciting news...

Our cat Lola has had kittens! I only got her about 4 or so weeks ago, she was in a pretty bad situation and I just had to take her. She stayed at our house for a few days and then I took her up to mums (I was so worried the real estate would let her out every time they brought people through the house). I had planned to feed her up a bit and then rehome her, but it turned out that the poor little darling was pregnant. So she is having a longer stay with us than we had originally planned. And yesterday she gave birth to 5 little angels! They are just so adorable and we already have found great homes for at least 2 of them. I cant wait to get some better photos of them all so I can scrap some cat pages!

Sunday Scrapping

Well, I have done heaps of scrapping this week, mostly with the Kaisercraft Q2 ranges, but not much I can share on here just yet. The only thing I have to show is this layout which I did for the Addicted to Craft challenge. The challenge was to use the Snowed in range of My Minds Eye papers to create a christmas layout. When I saw the papers I wasnt really that impressed, but after working with them I really quite like them. I wasnt able to buy the embellishment sheet because they had sold out, but there was one sheet of the papers that was just as good so I used that instead. The photos are ones I have had sitting in the drawer for years, so it was nice to finally get them out of the way. I almost wasnt going to put the pic of me and the kids on there, cos I have a rotten sunburn on my face and neck but oh well, that's real life isnt it? I'm not really on many layouts as it is, so I'm sure the kids will appreciate it in years to come.

These are just a couple of pics that I took as we went through the car wash. I usually wash the car myself (actually, I rarely wash it, maybe once every couple of months if it's lucky. It was looking really neglected and dirty, especially after the dust storm. And you should see the inside...it looks like we live in it!) Anyway, we were getting fuel and the kids spotted the car wash off to the side and talked me into taking the car through. Well, you should have heard them! We were on our way home from a birthday party so they were already hyped up, but this just hyped them more. They bounced around in their seats and squealed and carried on the whole time, they thought it was just so exciting. Definately money well spent, and having a clean car was a bonus too, lol.

Well, I've got my kids in bed so I'm off to scrap. I'm hoping to get another page finished tonight. I'm on such a roll at the moment that I just dont want to stop!

More Scrapping...

Have I told you how much I love these Fancy Pants papers, lol? Here's another layout with the Halloween range. The photos are from last halloween when Em was a witch/ghoul. I really love living in a neighbourhood that gets into the spirit of things. The kids get an unbelievable amount of lollies from trick-or-treating. Can you believe that they still have some left over from last Halloween?

For this page I cut out some of Em's little drawings to use instead of photos. I usually use lots of patterned paper on my pages but I only used 1 and a bit sheets on this one!

This is another page without photos (it was the theme this month for Blossies). Emily has become very helpful lately, and one of the most recent jobs she has been doing is writing the shopping list. I call out what we need and she writes it down, doing her own spelling. I love trying to decipher what she has written, but sometimes it's a real challenge!

Over at Scraps of Us at the moment they are having their 1st Anniversary Party! This layout and sketch I made are the challenge at the moment and there is a great prize on offer so make sure you check it out here!

Well, that's it from me for now. Tomorrow I'm off to the hospital with Jack to get his plaster cut and then taking the kids to Lollipops for the afternoon. Hopefully they'll be nice and tired when they get home so I can have a scrappy night. I have so many papers here that I'm just itching to use!
